Version 3.03 Enhancements
Auto Clear Option in System Preferences
The new Auto Clear option enables a field to be automatically highlighted upon entry and for the field to be cleared when a user begins to type. This setting is linked to each individual user via the new Auto Clear setting in System Preferences.
Advanced Searching
The searching facilities in Opera II are already comprehensive. The find functions in this release have been enhanced to allow for searching on multiple strings via a new option in User Preferences, which allows each user to activate Advanced Searching.
Calculate Company Balances
The facility to calculate company balances is now available within Monitor Companies. Where the option Update Company Balances in System Preferences is not activated, the new option to Calculate Balances is available. This replaces the Refresh option and enables the balance of one or more companies to be updated and has the addition of a Last Calculated column for each company.
Sales Ledger New Status - Dormant
The Dormant indicator is available for each customer from within the Terms Profile; when selected, the Dormant icon is displayed. Before a customer can be marked as Dormant the account must fulfill the following criteria:
The current balance and order balance must be zero
Must not be a Ledger or invoice account
Must not have any outstanding recurring entries in the Cashbook
Must not be a Gateway customer
Must not have any outstanding deliveries yet to be invoiced
The Ctrl+Find search in Sales Processing has an additional option called Include Dormant Records, allowing a user to search against Dormant customers.
A new check box has also been added to the criteria on the List of Accounts report and Sales Contacts report to Include Dormant Accounts. The following Sales Reports will not include Dormant customers:

Debtors Report
Credit Control
Mailing Labels
Warning Message when Adding a Ledger Account to a Customer Record
A warning message is now displayed when a Ledger Account is added to a customer record, where the customer already has transactions. The warning informs the user of the existing transactions and asks for confirmation that a Ledger Account is to be added.
Foreign Currency Indicator for Customers
To enable swift identification of a foreign currency account, a Foreign Currency icon is now displayed in the Status Bar on the Customer/Supplier Maintenance screen.
Warning Message when Changing Sales Ledger Open Item to Balance B/Fwd
This enhancement allows a warning message to be displayed when a Customer account is changed from Open Item to Balance B/Fwd, via the Options maintenance function. The warning informs the user that the account has transactions and asks for confirmation that the account should be changed to Balance B/Fwd.
Purchase Ledger New Status - Dormant
The Dormant indicator is available for each supplier from within the Terms Profile; when selected, the Dormant icon is displayed. Before a supplier can be marked as Dormant the account must fulfil the following criteria:
The current balance and order balance must be zero
Must not have any outstanding recurring entries in the Cashbook
Must not have any outstanding P/Os delivered but not yet invoiced
The Ctrl+Find search in Purchase Processing has an additional option called Include Dormant Suppliers, allowing a user to search against dormant suppliers.
A new check box has also been added to the criteria on the List of Accounts report and Purchase Contacts report to Include Dormant Accounts. The following Purchase Reports will not include Dormant suppliers:

Foreign Currency Indicator for Suppliers

This enhancement allows a warning message to be displayed when a Supplier account is changed from Open Item to Balance B/Fwd, via the Options maintenance function. The warning informs the user that the account has transactions and asks for confirmation that the account should be changed to Balance B/Fwd.
Nominal Ledger - Stock to Nominal Link
This enhancement provides the facility to automatically update the Nominal Ledger when stock movements are posted, removing the need to manually enter Journals.
The option is provided to carry out the update in real-time or via a batch transfer from within Nominal Stock Transfer. When a stock transfer is performed an issue is created from one warehouse and a receipt into another. The transfer is summary or detailed, according to the Summary setting for the Nominal Accounts involved. The transfer accounts for all companies whose stock is linked to the current companys Nominal Ledger.
Seven new control accounts within Nominal must be populated if Stock is linked to Nominal:
Goods In
Goods Out
Stock (Asset A/C)
Movement Suspense
Stock Suspense
BOM WIP Movement
BOM WIP (Asset A/C)
In Stock Category Maintenance, new Stock Nominal accounts can be assigned, dependent on the category of stock.
Where Cost Centres are in use, the facility to enter the Stock Cost Centre is available in Stock Warehouse Maintenance. This allows stock postings on the Nominal Ledger to be posted to different Cost Centres dependant on the warehouse in use.
SOP and POP postings allow for Advanced Nominal Ledger Dimensions and are utilised in Nominal Ledger postings.
A new function in Nominal Utilities performs a Stock Revaluation, which re-aligns the stock value in the Nominal Ledger with that on the Stock Valuation report. This is also a method for entering initial Opening Balances.
As is customary, the option is provided to Report Only or Report and Post. Where Report and Post is selected, any correcting journal required to ensure the stock account corresponds with the valuation will be posted directly to the Nominal Ledger of the current company.
Stock New Status - Dormant
The Dormant indicator is available for each stock item from within Options on the Maintenance screen; when selected, the Dormant icon is displayed. Before a stock item can be marked as Dormant it must fulfil the following criteria:
The stock balance, allocated, free stock, WIP, projected, on Sales Order, on P/Order and BOM allocated must be zero on each warehouse record
Must not be a component
Must not have a document, proforma or quotation in SOP
Must not be on a model purchase order Dormant stock items will not be included in:

An additional option called Include Dormant Items is now available in the Default Stock Search and the Ctrl+Find search in Stock Processing also has an option to Include Dormant Records.
Payroll - Input of Previously Paid SMP
Customers upgrading from Opera to Opera II can now benefit from the facility to enter specific SMP details for employees on maternity leave that have previously been paid SMP in Opera. Two new fields allow for the entry of the total number of weeks paid to date and the amount of SMP paid to date.
Costing Additional Profitability Report in Costing
The new Profitability report provides information regarding the cost type, date, reference, cost code/rate, cost description, quantity, budget, actual, uplifted and committed, and can include Commitments, Completed Jobs, transaction details and totals if required. This information can be sequenced by Job/Phase, Contract, Department, Sales Account and Project Leader. Radio buttons allow for selection by todays date, a date range, current period and a period range.
Ability to print All Cost Types on Costing Reports
Within Costing a number of reports allow the selection of costs, revenues or write offs as Cost Types; in addition to these there is now an All option, allowing the selection of all Cost Types. The reports benefiting from this enhancement are:

Addition of Stock Ref to the Details Grid in SOP, POP and PIR
This enhancement displays the Stock Ref in the Details grid when editing/adding lines to Documents in SOP and Invoicing, Purchase Order Invoices, Receipts, Satisfy, Back to Back and in PIR.
Add/Edit SOP Documents when a Customer is on Stop
There are occasions when a user may wish to accept an order from a customer that is on Stop, on the basis that they will not fulfil the order until their account is brought up to date. This enhancement enables a user to add or edit documents, quotes, proformas and orders in such a situation. The user will be warned that the customer is on Stop but will be allowed to continue processing if required.
