Operations II 2.08 released

V2.08.00 includes significant enhancements to the MRP module (Material Requirements Planning). This is intended to give much greater control over the MRP process, providing the customer with more powerful methods of maintaining stock levels.

Key enhancements include:

Safety Level Stock
The MRP Calculation function will replenish stock to the level indicated by the Safety Stock field on the Stock Form. By default, the items replenished will be those with a history of demand. Assemblies, sub-assemblies and components, where there is currently no demand, will not be re-ordered to their Safety Stock Level unless the Generate Demand for Items below Safety Stock flag is activated within MRP Utilities.

Manufacture to a Batch Size
MRP will release orders in multiples that correspond with the value held in the Batch Size field, as defined on the Stock Record.

Working Pattern
A new Working Pattern has been added to MRP that allows users to define working patterns. Days in the year can be defined as either Working or Non-Working. The MRP Calculation will only take into account working days when it calculates the suggested release date for an item. It is therefore possible to exclude weekends, bank holidays and factory shutdowns from the MRP Calculation.

Forecast Orders
One forecast order will be created and used by the system to control the manufacture of items that are not on the system as customer sales orders. The maintenance of this forecast order will be managed via a new option in the Customer module. It will display the part codes and the quantity required in each period. For manufactured items where the Aggregate flag is set to True, the system will populate the forecast order with the quantities required; it will no longer create Stock Orders. Within certain constraints, it is possible to add and amend these forecast records.

Sales and Purchase Order Rescheduling
A new Schedule Editor option allows you to rapidly amend the schedule dates of sales and purchase orders, without the need to load these orders individually.
